Proof of coverage
A client wants proof of media E&O. Here's what to do.
You need an active media liability policy and a certificate of insurance (COI) that shows it. Get the client's requirements in writing, get a policy that meets them, and send the COI before you sign.
Step by step
- Get the requirement in writing. The coverage named, the limits, the certificate holder's exact legal name and address, whether they want to be an additional insured, and how long coverage has to last.
- Quote against it. Send those requirements to CreatorSure or SongSure with your quote request so the policy matches.
- Get covered. A certificate is issued once the policy is active.
- Request the COI. CreatorSure and SongSure issue your certificate of insurance, ready to send to brands, venues and partners.
- Send it and track the renewal. Clients ask for a fresh COI each policy year.
The document
What a COI shows
Your name, the insurer, the policy number, the coverage type, the dates, the limits and the certificate holder.
Clients ask influencers, UGC creators, filmmakers and ad agencies for this most.
