Autos
Most states require liability insurance...but required coverage is rarely enough to protect you. To help make you truly secure, they go beyond liability coverage with a broad range of options. To make driving more affordable, they offer discounts based on your driving record, auto usage, your safety equipment, and other factors.
- Liability insurance covers property damages and bodily injury to others, up to the limits of the policy. It also includes the cost of your legal defense if a suit is filed against you. In today’s climate of large damage awards, adequate liability insurance is financially prudent.
- Optional Medical Coverage Covers medical expenses for you and your passengers in the event of an auto accident, and compensates for injuries to you and your passengers that are the result of an accident involving an uninsured or hit-and-run driver.
- Optional Collision Coverage Pays for damage to your car caused by a collision with another vehicle or object. You may choose the level of coverage and the deductible amount.
Choices include:
- Collision: Pays for damage to your car, less your deductible.
- Deductibles: You may choose the deductible level of any collision policy. The higher the deductible, the lower your premium.
- Optional "Other-Than-Collision" Coverage Collisions aren’t the only hazard. Fire, theft, vandalism, and other non-collision damages can also be covered.
- Optional Towing and Labor Coverage Pays for towing and repair work whenever your vehicle is disabled as the result of an accident.
- Optional Uninsured Motorist Coverage Provides protection for injury to you and your passengers for accidents caused by an uninsured, underinsured motorist, or hit-and-run driver.
- Electronic Equipment and Media Coverage
- Customized Van and Pickup Insurance
- Auto Rental Reimbursement

Your home is your most valuable investment and all mortgage lenders require you to carry homeowner's insurance. But even if you own your home free and clear, don’t risk living without homeowner’s insurance.
- Homeowners Policy
Their Homeowners Insurance offers coverage for single-owner homes, which includes the following:
- Coverage for your home Your home and other structures on your property are covered for direct physical loss resulting from fire, lightning, wind, hail, smoke, vandalism, explosion, and other perils.
- Inflation As housing prices rise, your homeowners insurance may become obsolete. They adjust policy limits to keep pace with rising prices.
- Personal Belongings In the event of damage to you home, furniture, appliances, clothing, and other possessions may need to be replaced. Your policy covers basic losses, adjusted for depreciation. As an option, you can buy coverage for Full Replacement Cost instead of fair market value. If you have especially valuable items, such as collections, computers, antiques, or artwork, they strongly recommend that you consider additional valuable items coverage.
- Additional Living Expense Where would you live if you were burned out of your home? Your homeowners policy can include coverage for the extra costs of living while your home is repaired or replaced.
- Liability Coverage You and your family are covered for bodily injuries and property damage for which you are found responsible, and for legal defense costs against all liability suits.
- Medical Payments to Others Medical coverage that pays non-household members who are accidentally injured on your property, or by you or a family member.
- Homeowner Enhanced Coverage Endorsement Higher value homes often need additional insurance to properly cover the dwelling and its contents.
- Identity Fraud is a crime dramatically increasing in America. You could be a victim of identity fraud when someone assumes your name and uses your personal financial information to obtain money, credit cards, loans or property. While victims are usually not liable for the bad debts of an ID thief, they are left with damaged credit records that could exclude them from getting loans or acquiring goods with credit. Additionally, there are considerable expenses, such as lost time from work, affidavits and legal fees.
- Condominium Policies Condo owners need special insurance to pick up where association coverage leaves off. "Loss assessment coverage," for example, pays when your condo association must settle a legal judgement and asks for your share.
Policies include
- Improvements: (Appliances, window treatments, cabinetry, etc.)
- Possessions: Guest’s property, cash and securities, jewelry, watches, furs, boats, trailers
- Liability: Personal liability, coverage for medical payments to others
- Renter’s Insurance
Property Insurance
- What if you lost all you owned in a fire or storm? What if burglars cleaned out your apartment? Could you afford to start over from scratch? Your landlord’s insurance protects his property, but not yours. If you rent, consider a Renters Policy from Allmerica Property & Casualty.
Liability Insurance
- In addition to protecting possessions, their Renter's Policy covers personal liability. If you, your family members living with you, or even a pet, cause personal injury or property damage, you are covered. Medical and dental payments to others are also covered.
- Dwelling Fire Plus If you rent out property, you need landlord’s insurance. Often, ordinary homeowner’s insurance does not cover rental property, even if your own residence is in the same building.
- Standard policy includes coverage for your Primary Dwelling. Your rental property is protected against fire, windstorm, and other perils specified in your policy.
- Other Structures: Detached garages or carports, service structures, and other structures on the property are also protected.
- Personal Property Protection covers personal property you keep at the rental location—such as appliances you provide for your tenants' use.
- Loss of Rental Income: To protect the profitability of your rental property, Dwelling Fire-Plus also pays you for loss of rental income, up to a limit.
